On Saturday, September 8, the UVETS team volunteered for a noble and genuine cause – helping a wounded veteran, SSgt Omar Milan and Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) by installing an irrigation system at his new home.
Diana Aponte, UVETS Director of LSS/Performance Management had this to say, “My heart was shaken when I saw so many people gathered together for this important cause. We helped, put our energies into action no matter the rain that was falling. That was beautiful! Everyone helping and giving part of themselves to others. I am blessed to be part of UVETS and to have partners and friends who believe in us and our mission.”
During three hours of rainsoaked work, the team of 11 UVETS volunteers laid the groundwork for a complete irrigation system installation, all while completing their mission of serving those who have sacrificed so much.
